HOW TO STUDY MORE IN LESS TIME

Do you plan to study, separate books, notebooks and notebooks, but feel that, even after hours of reading and exercising, your productivity is low? In addition to frustration, the question always comes: what am I doing wrong?

How to assimilate all topics efficiently? How to study more in less time? These doubts surround the students’ minds, after all, usually, they are faced with a large volume of materials and a deadline too short to cover all subjects.

If you’re looking for tips on how to optimize your studies, you’ve come to the right place. Continue reading and stay on top of how to improve your performance and succeed in tests!

1. Bet on contextual learning
Many people believe that memorization is the best way to study. This way of assimilating the content may work for some students, but it is not valid for everyone.

One way to learn faster is by connecting ideas. It is a personalized study technique , in which the student creates a method of linking information in a way that makes sense to him.

This is called contextual learning , a way of reviewing the subjects making the connection of the subjects in a way that facilitates the memory on the day of the test. You can associate the studied concepts with the names of films, animals or even football teams.

2. Write summaries
The volume of topics that need to be read and the list of exercises to do scare many students. But, if you want to know a way to study more, the tip is to make summaries .

You read the whole story and select only the most important information, passing it to the notebook. You can even highlight the keywords with a highlighter to optimize the review later.

When you do the summary, you study by writing, which will also help you learn faster. This is because by reading the material, interpreting and writing down the main topics, you activate other areas of the brain, which improves your logical thinking and also your memorization.

3. Use memory cards
If you want to know how to study more, you can incorporate memorization cards when preparing for exams. How it works? You cut several cards (the size of a business card) on a cardboard and arrange 3 boxes.

On each card, you put a question on the front and the answer on the back. The tip is to select the main subjects of the subjects charged in the exams.

To start, you put all the cards in box 1. Next, you take a card and try to answer the question. If you get it right, the card goes to box 2, if you get it wrong, it goes back to box 1. With box 2, you do the same scheme: if you get it right, put it in box 3; if you get it wrong, go back to box 1.

In summary: in box 1 you will find the cards that you still miss and, in box 3 , those that you got right and that, therefore, you have already learned and memorized the content. To optimize the studies, you review box 1 once a day, box 2, every 2 days, and box 3, every 3 days.

4. Teach the subject to a colleague
One way to more easily retain matters is to meet with a colleague and teach the subject to him . As you will look for ways to be as didactic as possible to transmit the content, you will be able to learn more by assuming the role of teacher.

In addition, you will be more engaged and motivated to assimilate the issues, which also helps in the optimization of studies.

5. Study in a different location
Do you sit down every day at your desk in your room, sort the materials to study and easily lose interest? Have you thought about changing the place of study ? It may seem silly, but it will increase your concentration and the level of information retention.

You can prepare for exams at the public library, at the college or even in a café. The important thing is to choose a quiet place, where you will not be interrupted.

6. Respect your biological clock
How to study more? How about taking advantage of the periods of the day when your income is highest ? We are suggesting that you respect your biological clock and enjoy the moments when you are more willing to pass on the content.

There are students who wake up full of energy, so they can take the opportunity to study early in the morning. Others, on the other hand, get up more tired and are more productive at night, so they should prepare for the test before bed.

By taking this into account, you can learn faster and focus better on your readings and exercises.

7. Schedule short breaks
Did you know that one of the ways to optimize your studies is to take short breaks ? It may seem contradictory, after all, you don’t want to waste even a minute to assimilate all the materials, don’t you?

We are talking about short breaks. For example: take 10-minute breaks every hour of study so that you can stretch, drink water, or have a snack. At these stops, you relax a little and have more energy to continue your studies. But it is not worth interrupting the rhythm at any time: it is necessary to program and follow exactly what was stipulated.

If you don’t know how to incorporate this tip into your study routine , you can adopt the Pomodoro technique, in which you study for 25 minutes without interruption – which is equivalent to 1 pomodoro – and take a 5-minute break. After repeating 4 pomodoros, take a longer break, 15 to 20 minutes.
